Today I want to talk about not giving up after something you worked so hard for just didn’t work out the way you hoped, at least not the first time. My son was way sad after he didn’t win the student body elections this last year. That day I sat down with him and chatted with him until he just wanted me to stop talking! haha! I talked to him about how in life sometimes you win some, and sometimes you lose some. It’s not hard to win and be happy, but it takes a whole lot of character to pull yourself up by the bootstraps and keep on keepin on when you lose! Then I proceeded to read to him about 50 examples of successful people who failed before they succeeded big time. These people didn’t not consider their failures as failures, but rather stepping-stones to their greater good! They learned from their mistakes, maybe felt sad for a minute, and then moved forward! Every minute of the day is a new opportunity and they took it!
A couple of weeks ago I had a disappointment that threw me for a loop because it was something that I thought I had worked hard enough to achieve and it didn’t happen. I had to take my own advice I gave my son and as much as I tried to be sad about it and drown out my positivity even for one day it didn’t work! I have been training my mind to move onto the next, and think positive so much lately that my positive mantras just kept sneaking back up and won out the negative! haha! Because I was already in the habit of thinking positive, no matter how hard I tried to feel down about the situation I couldn’t, or at least it didn’t stick. We literally are what we think, its so true! Get in the habit of thinking positive and you will become your thoughts! Keep on keepin on, and learning in every moment of your life, because every moment in your life is a new one! Dont look back! Forward and onward to the progression of who you were meant to be!
