Riding the wave

riverThere are different times and seasons in your life, and sometimes just weekends, or days that you really need to hone into what your needs are, and you need to listen to that!  I have desperately been needing to get away from the daily grind lately and do something new and different.  Our awesome friends do this amazing camping trip on the Snake River and go White water rafting every year so when they invited us this year, we thought, why not?  I have to say by the time we left everything was getting in our way to not go, but we just did, and I AM SO GLAD we did!  I feel all the better for going and just being in nature with my family and some cool friends, and even being peer pressured into white water rafting!  haha!  I am not an adreneline junky by any stretch of the imagination, but I have been craving adventure lately and so somehow life gave me adventure in a form I wasnt expecting, and as scared as I was the whole time, I really think it was just what I needed!  I mean I feel like a new revived mama, as opposed to the tired haggard mama I felt like before this trip!  Funny how life throws curveballs at you in forms that are least expected, and when it does, ride the wave!

Sometimes we need to listen to our body, mind, and soul and if its something different that you need than your daily norm….  then do it!  Maybe its your season to relax and enjoy, or maybe its your season to just go for your goals and push every day to get there!  Whatever it is, you need to listen to it!  Its another way you will not get results unless you listen and do it!  I have been the worst at doing this, but I am sure going to try to be better at listening and doing, even if its not necessarily what I always do.  I challenge the same to you…  push hard, go for your goals and dreams but just remember to listen to what your needs are for that day, that second…  or even that season of your life!
